John 11:51-52
he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Isaiah 53:8 - for God's people
He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of My people.
Matt. 1:21
He shall save His people from their sins
John 10:11 - for his sheep
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
John 15:13-14 - for his friends
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you.
Acts 20:28 - for the Church
... the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood.
Eph. 5:25, 26
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her...
In Revelation 5:9 it is written: And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the scroll and to open its seals, for You were slain, and by Your blood You ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
And remember - All Scripture is God breathed (2 Tim. 3:16)
I suggest, so you know 100% that I'm not taking this out of context, that you read before and after these verses.
Jesus gave his life for everyone. Not a select few. He does not choose those who are the strongest, the bravest, the most healthy powerful, or influential, or a certain race, a certain place with boundaries and limitations put on it but rather he died for everyone. Every single person. Which includes you. It includes me. It includes, as I said, everyone.
John 3:16 - the whole world for love
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
