Supper Man had a very simple motto: Truth; Justice and the American way. I think if Supper Man where to come back today he would be horrified on all three points.
What then is your motto?
If I were to take up a parish again I would promote:
Truth; Gospel and the Heavenly way.
Jesus Said - “I am the Truth”. That is, all that truth is, is found in HIM. He was speaking of spiritual understanding. The world has a warped idea of truth anyway, but in terms of the spiritual everyone seems to be a law unto them self. They say the truth is within. Jesus is saying the Truth is without.
The Truth stands outside of what we believe, it stands on its own it is totally other, as God is totally other. Jesus was saying that
THE Truth cannot be known apart from Him.
Then there’s the Gospel: The Gospel is the GOOD NEWS. We don’t get much Good News these days, what hits the news is, sex scandal; war; valance; misfortune; sensationism and stuff that sells.
The Good news that Jesus spoke of was: Personally having a relationship with HIM. From then on Life takes on a new perspective and new directions inspire us to see things in a more dynamic ways.
Then there’s the Heavenly Way: This is different to our way: It’s a whole way of living. The Heavenly way is Kingdom Directed. Jesus said, “When you pray”, ask the Father that HIS’ Kingdom will come. That is in contrast to the development of our desires and aspirations.
We slowly begin to see that God’s way is the only way. After all He made us He should know how we should operate to the fullest of our potential.
My Prayer is, that GOD’S people Know Jesus, to be the ONLY one to bring us into a Living Relationship with the Father and that we grow to be more like Him.
